HCMC – The Royal Thai Consulate-General in HCMC will organize an art exhibition titled Color of Saigon from September 19 to 23 at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House.

The event features 33 artworks by Fuanglada Verdillon, a Thai artist and pattern designer residing in HCMC. Using pen, watercolor, and gouache, she presents her interpretation of the connection between Vietnam and Thailand, capturing the unique beauty and spirit of Saigon through a series of paintings and illustrations.

Wiraka Moodhitaporn, consul general of Thailand in HCMC, said: “The exhibition takes place in a very important moment in Vietnam-Thailand relations. Two countries have recently elevated our ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership – the highest level of bilateral relations each country holds with their partners. This is a significant milestone that goes beyond political and economic cooperation.”

Thai artist Fuanglada Verdillon shared that her passion for art has grown even stronger after coming to Vietnam, where she lives with her husband, who was assigned to work in HCMC, and their two children. The “Color of Saigon” exhibition reflects the way she sees and feels about this city.

“To me, Thailand and Vietnam share so much in common. From the fruit, food to most importantly, the deep and long-standing friendship between our countries. This city, with all its stories and everyday beauty, has revealed to me many fascinating and charming perspectives,” she added.
